Don Moore Labour Day Pairs Results
On Monday the 7th October the Don Moore Labour Day Pair Tournament was held at Gosford City Bowling Club.
20 teams of men, ladies, and mixed pairs contested for honours in weather that can only be described as perfect for bowls.
As always the volunteers at gosford put on a magnificent lunch of cold meats and salads that complemented the unseasonally warm weather that we are experiencing here on the Central Coast.
After 2 rounds one team Phil Barclay and Graham Norris were enjoying a commanding lead of 20 points having won both their morning games. They felt that all they had to do was win the last game and they would take out the tournament. When they got to the last end they were leading by 5 and holding shot when Phil decided not to play his last bowl.
As the final cards were entered into the computer and the winners decided it was Glen Mathieson and Pat O'Neill who came out in front having picked up a win by 27 points in their last game to pip Phil's team by 1.
